Lesotho’s Enterprise Surveys, facilitated by AfricaScope and the World Bank, reveal insights crucial for the nation’s economic development. Despite facing challenges like intermittent electricity supply and difficulty in accessing water, the survey highlight the prevalence of sound management practices among firms. However, informality remains a concern, with over half of businesses competing with unregistered counterparts. Tackling regulatory hurdles and corruption is imperative, as identified by the surveys, to create a more conducive business environment and drive sustainable growth in Lesotho.
